At the onset, I apologize if I am asking a question that has been asked and/or discussed previously. I just do not have the time to research all forums. If two TRS systems are the same type, but are about 75 miles apart, can they be programmed into the same bank on the 796D? Thanks for your patience.

Thanks, Ken. They are both Motorola systems currently at 800MHZ. After the new banding plan is implemented, who knows, 900MHZ?

Rebanding only involves 851-869 MHz. Nobody is moving there due to the rebanding.

Although 75 miles apart, they will only work effectively if you can only receive one control channel. Half way between them, for example, if you can receive both systems, the scanner will only track the first CC it sees.

Also, any TG lists will be shared. IF the PD uses TG 1024 on one, and the sanitation dept uses 1024 on the other, you will have to continually lock out and unlock that group or put up with listening to both.

If ANY fleetmaps are involved (on either system), and blocks are shared, this will also present a real problem in being able to effectively track the system.

Last, and L/O'ed TGs will be locked out on the other system as well.

Any other scanner capable

What about the 246t and 396t, Can you monitor more than one trunking systems in one bank. I live in an area where i can recieve 20 to 25 systems. Since my uniden 780 is not capable of doing this i am hoping these new scanners can. It is impossible to monitor more than 10 systems at one time. If the 246 and 396 can't do it what about the rs pro-97.
Also id's is another problem on my 780, 100 system id's can be programed per bank, on some of these systems there many more than 100 id's available. Is any of these units cabable of programing more than 100 id's per bank. I have one system that I monitor has over 300 id's on it, it would be nice to have all of them programmed in one bank. Thanks for any help on these questions.

The 246 & 396 don't have "banks". I think you can program up to 200 systems in the 246. I'm sure the 246 thread has all the info you need.

I think you can program 200 Ids per system. I'm not 100% sure as I only had a 246 for programming & testing at work.

It takes awhile to getting the "bank" idea out of your head though :)

Correct. No banks. 200 TGID's per system. Up to 200 systems on the BC246T and up to 400 systems on the BCD396T.
