Municipalties In Two Counties

If you want to have funsies... Union City is located on the state border between Ohio and Indiana (Darke & Randolph Counties). It's actually two separate gubments, but it is in many ways still laid out as one city.

College Corner is a smaller town in a similar situation, but not only does it lie across the OH/IN state line, it also lies on the border between Butler and Preble counties on the Ohio side of the line. So it lies in three counties in two states!

The former high school gym sits with the half court line on the state line, so if you can make a half-court shot, you can make a basket in Ohio by taking a shot in Indiana and vice-versa.

I will shed light on the Village of Plain City. All landline 9-1-1 calls go to Madison County SO no matter what side of the line you are on. Madison County SO dispatches Pleasant Valley Fire District and Union County SO dispatches Plain City Police. If it is a Police related 9-1-1 call, the caller gets transferred to Union County SO. Both county's CADs tell us if the address is in Madison or Union County. Cell 9-1-1 calls go either way. There is only 1 cell tower (Verizon) actually in the village at 300 S Jefferson St (across from the Der Dutchman) and all those calls come to Madison County. I cannot speak for the location of the Union County cell towers that are north of the village. The towers that are south of the village in Madison County go to Madison County.

Minerva is in Stark, Carroll and Columbiana counties.

Green Springs is in Sandusky and Seneca Counties depends on which side of the county line the call comes from, determines which county dispatches out the police/fire. EMS is dispatched only by Seneca County. If its on the north side that someone needs EMS lately Sandusky county sends one of its EMS to the location.

Centerville Ohio is located in Montgomery and Greene County thanks to politics.

Why do you say that? Because of the annexation on the East side of Wilmington pike? At least it just extends the boarders of the city. How about the City's golf course in the middle of the Township.

Wikipedia claims, evidenced by maps from the US Census Bureau, that Alliance is in Stark and Mahoning counties. There is a park in the northeast corner that is in Mahoning. Maybe some neighborhoods nearby but not definitive from maps. I haven't been there in many years; maybe some annexations over the years?

Washingtonville and Columbiana are both in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.

Derby Line, Vermont, straddles the US/Canadian border. Some houses sit right on the line...

Interesting you bring up this town, just in the past couple of days a US Border Patrol Officer was involved in shooting at three folks in Derby Line when they reportedly attacked him. Two were arrested and at last report one fled into Canada.

Loveland, Ohio is located in three counties: Hamilton, Clermont and Warren. Dispatching for that city is done by Hamilton County Communications (originated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office).
