Does anyone know of a scanner for Muscatine County in Eastern Iowa? If there isn't one I would be very interested in finding out what it all takes to get one up an going. I am very very new to all this but have found a great interest. Anything you can provide would be great.

Thanks.

All you need is a scanner you're not using and a computer with a sound card.

What you should use is a dedicated scanner / computer set up.

it would be nice for someone to provide an audio feed for this co. My daughter, her husband and my grandson moved there and only counties with audio feed that are close are scott, johnson and cedar? Does anyone know of these who would be closest?

I think everyone went MotoTRBO except the county sheriff and fire.

I live in Muscatine and right now the only department that is MotoTRBO is the city fire. All county agencies are analog and Muscatine PD is Digital. I know there has been talk about the PD changing but I am currently listening to them on my scanner.

Thanks for the update. There are about 4-6 MotoTRBO frequencies for the city. Which one(s) is fire using? Has the fire department totally abandoned 800 P25 then?

Without being able to hear them on a scanner I am not sure which one the fire department is using, Sorry. As far as I know yes they have completely given up on the 800 system for the FD. I also am not sure that it is P25. Not sure what kind it is but I think it is just a Motorola digital radio system. They only have two frequencies, one car to car or fire ground and one for each dispatch for each department (city FD and City PD). They were able to be picked up on my scanned in regular FM mode but would automatically come up DG when they talk. I hope that makes sense.

County Fire is still paged and transmits on 154.175. I think that City FD Station 2 is paged out on the 154.250. I will pay a little more attention next time they get paged out and see if that is still the case and let you know if anything needs changed. If you don't hear anything then everything is right. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
