Hey guys,

I've seen some mentions of MUSSELL flights on the boards, mentioned in the text version of hushed tones alongside words like "Mt. WX," which I can only assume means Mount Weather. What kind of aircraft are flying these things, and who's flying them? Are they similar to the JANET flights out of McCarran in Las Vegas?

Thanks,
FR9

Flown by the 1st Helicopter Squadron, Andrews AFB. They are part of the 89th Airlift Wing. They fly Hughies. Not like Janet at all. They are all active duty AF.

All the MUSSELL flights I have seen are Hueys. From what I've read, all newly appointed cabinet members are given a tour of Mt Weather to become familiar with it in the event of a continuity of government plan becoming a reality. Also so that the squadron is familiar with the area.

There is also this, which at the end confirms the above.
