Muting Scanner Speaker

I am trying to find if there is any device that is manufactured or can be made to automatically mute a scanner speaker when a microphone on a two radio is lifted off hook. In my set up with my two-way radio in my car when I transmit I have to turn the scanner down which can become tedious. I remember in the past there was a scanner that had this built in but I have never seen a device since.

I would say either lock out the frequency your creating the interference on or use pl/dcs codes.

Motorola used to use a microphone hang up box that was basically a mic holder with a microswitch. When the mic was hung up, the radio was in PL mode; when the mic was off the hanger the radio was in normal squelch mode.

I've used these in the past to mute my scanners' speakers.
