I was surprised and irked that they disappeared from our state's listings, too.
It would seem there are countless other more important DB issues to address
with those hours of labor.
Just a link added for the national channels wiki page would
have been sufficient, without removing the more local info that has been submitted
by members. Those submissions and all the labors to enter them are now down the drain.
The mutual aid and interop frequencies are definitely not in use
everywhere in the country, and may never be.
Some of those freqs have been assigned locally for years.
As an example in Marion Co, Oregon here's how they use a couple of the
"mutual aid" channels:
154.29500 WNMN401 M 123.0 PL South 4 Lyons/Gates/Mill City working
154.26500 WPYV453 RM 365 DPL North 6 North working
To my knowledge, they've never been used as mutual aid in Oregon.
But 154.280: definitely. I've also never heard it referred to in my state as VFIRE28
It's called State Fire here. A newbie might not have a clue where to go if he hears
"switch to State Fire" on another channel.
Maybe some day we'll have the luxury of every single public safety radio
user in the US calling these channels exactly the same thing, but
I think you're jumping the gun. We're not near that yet.
We respectfully request that you please don't fix things that ain't broke
Thank you.
