Motorists typically can pick up broadcasts over 25 to 75 square miles.

....providing they have an older vehicle. Many car radios these days don't have the AM BC band, and 10watts to go 75sq.miles! That's about 8.5 miles on a perfect site and a rooftop as shown on the clip is not it - unless the roof is full of reinforcing mesh. Even the 25sq.miles is a bit of a stretch, say 5 miles distance - and of course that's 10watts transmitter power, not EIRP.
