Okay thanks. I believe that some chief officers might have portables on the phase II system to talk with operations.

I concur. The radio IDs for the units appear to be a Smartnet format. Engine 301=2462 and not the P25 format 337xxxx.
Hearing a dispatch on 3 Alpha tonight.

I think i may be mistaken. My Unication in Monitor mode might be truncating the ID number. More monitoring is s needed for
the real radio id.

I heard a 38xxxxx number yesterday. Not sure whether pd or fd. Over the past week it seems more fd channels have been heard. I think there is a pattern in current old system for radio id's. I need to monitor again for breakdown. Police have a bunch of 4 digit 2000 #'s. Fire has bunch , possibly 3000 range and road assistance 5 or 6 digits. I will post what I hear this evening.

So yes radio ids are showing up in both 4 digit and 7 digit formats. On Arlington and Fairfax systems when running mutual aid units seem to have 7 digit ids and on the MWAA system they have 4. Not sure if they have radios on both or how it is setup. The ops and maintinace radios have ids with 337xxxx.

Got word from a source that radio swap overs have started. I would assume the 7 digit id's are new p25 radios.

I was able to confirm TG 3 Mike tonight as (166). I was fast and furious trying to write down radio ids for the dispatched aircraft emergency.

MWAA Dulles FD units have had radios capable of 7-digit IDs for years. They have been used on the Loudoun system for probably as long as Loudoun's phase II system has been in use.

Some I bothered to add to my RID programming:
Engine 303 3370011
Tower302 3370015
Tower302 3371291
Medic 303 3371272
Medic 303 3371306
Medic 303 3371356

I got word that MWAA was turning off the P16 system on December 1. The control channel is gone, so I submitted it to RR as deprecated.

Was listening just now, and TG 155 I seemed to hear some chatter about de-icing but also it might be snow plow/snow removal because I heard them talking about some taxiways being closed. I heard someone mention runway 1C so must be at IAD. Also, unrelated but RID 3376500 on TG 113 was using "Snow Desk" as a designator. The system doesn't come in too strong where I am, some of the higher frequencies seem to be really spotty for me.

EDIT: Heard more chatter that seemed to be from snow plow crews. Also heard something about brooming near the boathouse doors on TG 129, so that's probably snow removal at DCA.

TG 155: IAD (Probably snow removal but still not 100% sure)
TG 129: DCA (Probably snow removal but still not 100% sure)
