My anniversary gift from my wife: A BCD396T!

Well, my wife really surprised me this morning for our 15th wedding anniversary with a Uniden BCD396T. But it didn't end there, she also pre-ordered me the Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS reveiver (http://www.garmin.com/products/nuvi/). I'm shocked! What a great wife!

At the time I was married....my then wife said she was going to bury me with my scanners....after she killed me. I think she would have been less jealous of a 2nd woman. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness......and full quieting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could have 'wife PL' feature. You could hear the transmissions you wanted to hear, and filter the rest out! It could also have automatic power off - shutting down after a pre-determined amount of extraneous noise was received....

Mine too...I think all men are created with a built-in "wife PL and/or attenuator."

I think my wife would still get through the attenuator,She can get alot of modulation going sometimes.Maybe just the plain old "MUTE" buton would be the best! :lol:

My wife bought me a scanner as a present once. It wasn't a Uniden or a GRE, it was, as I recall, a Damn. She was always saying, "Turn down that Damn scanner". ;-)

Thanks for the kind words from all of you. Also, those PL wife feature comments are hilarious!

I guess I am a lucky man. My wife's father is a retired firefighter. My wife grew up with scanners/radios in the house. My wife says the scanners were on in the house 24/7. As a matter of fact, my father-in-law is the person who got me into the radio hobby. I'm certainly thankful my father-in-law introduced me to the scanner hobby.

Thus far, I am enjoying my new BDC396. It's a fantastic radio. Not quite the audio quality of my RS Pro-96; howver, the BCD396 is loaded with more features and offers a more user-friendly software/menu interface than the Pro-96, IMO. Both are great radios, though.
