My ARC 300 and ARC 500 shut down

I have the Butel ARC 300 for my Pro-164 and the ARC 500 for my PSR-500 installed on my computer. When I'm working with either one and no other programs running, they cut out often. An error window pops up, the program freezes and then says Windows is looking for a solution to the problem. The program then shuts off and i have to restart it, but all of my changes are lost. This happens ALOT, and i want to know has anyone else come across this or found a solution. Thanks in advance for any help.

Whatever you do, stay away from the ARC500PRO, because it hasn't been upgraded since March 2010, so it won't work with the Nationwide part on the RR database.
