My Back Yard

I'm not really a rail fan, but I thought I'd share some pictures from my back yard. I live in Monticello, IL and we are lucky to have a railroad museum here.

There are a few miles of museum-owned track that run through town, and out into the country where the museum is located. I live on the edge of town, and the tracks run right on the edge of my back yard.

Here's today's train coming by. It runs on Saturday and Sunday all sommer, and comes by about every half hour between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.

That's kinda net, I guess. Good thing it's a museum operated line and not a commercial line! You don't have to listen to it 7 days a week. Does it get old hearing trains thundering by every weekend?
I hope you don't have little kids running around in the back yard! I'm guessing you don't since there is no fence out there.

Definitely the perfect place for a railfan to live! 8) Lots of neat photo-ops.
