hi guys just got my baby 2 days ago and i will tell u i love this scanner uniden fix the ctcss and dcs now thank god its just like the pro-96 scanner here are some nice pics of my scanner

is the plastic casing BLACK or GREY?

i was under the impression the casing was black, with grey or black buttons.

getting tired of the "Hello Kitty" look to new scanners (or worse, the Alien-FRS-communicator-look like the PRO-96)

Pretty sure it's grey. I don't mind this look. I'd rather have scanners either look and feel like full-on public safety radios or FRS radios. Either end of the spectrum is ok by me, but I agree the Pro-96 looks lame. Don't get me wrong, it works great, but to me it looks like a cheap '70's handheld CB. Now when they make the rumored digital version of the 246T I'll be thrilled just not to have to carry around the brick of a Pro-96...oh, and it would be nice if it were black too

yeah, the 246 should be BROWN.

with peanuts for buttons.

Colour be darned. I wanna know how it works, whats the sound like? Does it sound better than the 245, how many systems can you load into it.

I'm tempted to get one. Durham Radio has them for $349 right now.

Are they easy to program? Similar to other Unidens?

how many systems can you load into it. about 200 dcs-ctcss is the same as the pro-96 the best part i love this scanner uniden did the best job evey
