My Car

Here are a couple pics of my car. Its a 1999 Crown Victoria (retired vomit comet). It is very modest at best. I plan to buy a Pro-2055, hopefully soon to put in my restored (retired from service) CHP console.

Yeah, 3 antennas, 1 scanner...what gives right...

A few reasons...number one, I hate those stupid black plugs on a white car. I plan to fill those holes with scanner/cb antennas anyway, so I just picked up some local garbage to put in the holes on the trunk lid. They are antennas from a Plano PD car. I will probably move to a 2 scanner, 1 CB setup where I have the two scanner antennas on the trunk lid and the CB on the quarter panel.

I bought the console on ebay for $20.00. I got 5 of those cupholders on ebay for about $15.00. I bought the metal to refurb and make blank panels for the console on ebay for about $9.00. The scanner setup was also bought on ebay. I am in this whole deal for about $220.00, which included a new scanner, PC cable, wall charger and the stuff in the car you can see.

So, now that I am learning, and becoming addicted, I will add another scanner and CB to the mix at some point.

I like the bent antenna on the quarter panel so it sits straight.

I don't know why but it bothers me when antennas don't sit nice and straight up and down. (Unless they have a nice rearward rake on them so it looks like you're going 90mph all the time.

)

Should be a really nice setup for not a lot of money.
