Included in the five photos are three BCT-15s', six BC BCT-15xs', a BCD-996xt, a BC-785D, a BC780, a variety of HF gear including an ICOM 756 PRO III, a Yaesu 857D, an ICOM 718, and an old Bearcat DX1000 shortwave receiver from 1984. For VHF/UHF ham use is a Yaesu FT-8800, a Kenwood TM-V71A, an Alinco DR-235 for 220 Mhz. I have been a monitor radio listener since 1969.

A variety of handheld radios are showing including two very old crystal scanners from the 70s' and they still work. In this house the radio room is what most normal people would call the dining room but who is really "normal" in this hobby?

The antenna farm shows in these photos and it includes three of the Antennacraft ST-2 scanner antennas which seem to vastly outperform several discone antennas that are also used. A beam for 2 meters and one for 220 Mhz are found on one mast along with a J-pole for 220 also. Three dipole antennas are also used for HF.

One photos shows how the coax lines are routed into the house using an MFJ Window Feedthrough Panel with many more holes drilled in it after purchase. The board is simply cut for the size of the window and put in place. No holes drilled in the walls. In only a few hours my station could be disassembled if needed.

It works for me.

Nice collection of radios you have.

Sometimes I wish I lived out in a not so populated area like you do. Whats the noise level like on 160 out there?

There's only two things that'll cure a situation as big as this.......more radios/scanners and more antennas.

What a spread!

Thanks for sharing :)

Nice set up my wife wants to know if your married or single because any woman in her right mind would not allow this. Lol she doesn't get the whole ham radio and scanning listening genre.

No, I am single. If I was married I would have a larger house with one large room full of radios and computers isolated from the rest of the family. In regards to the 160m question, there is some noise but it's workable from time to time usually with low power and working a digital mode.

I don't know about that. Personally, I wouldn't mind having all those radios in the dining room because I'd be listening to them, too.

And I totally approve of the scanner kitty :D

There are also six more radios, sometimes more in the bedroom with two of them on during sleeping hours with close call enabled on one and the volume set very low on a second radio.
