I would assume as this ;oster has never said he has problems with the antenna being indoors that it would be working fine indoors.

i too would like to know what the reception is like, I live on the 2nd floor of an apt complex and gettting an antenna from the deck to the bedroom would be a long run, with that i could just put it up in the closet and have it out of the way and have no cables to contend with.

I used to use a discone in my attic in my VERY restricted subdivision, and had no issues. If all you can do is mount your antenna in the house, it's still miles above the standard rubber duck. Nice job.

This is just one of the reasons I will NEVER live where I cant freely choose where and how to mount my antennas etc.

Yea, but some of us, for whatever reason, can't choose where we live!!!

I have ALL my antennas in the attic of the condo. Now admittedly they are just over three stories in the air, but I hear everything I want to.

MFJ 2 mtr. GP for ham use/home-brew VHF GP for Hi-band/home-brew 800 mhz GP, and that could be improved a bit/dipole for HF/six meter loop for just that. I do have the advantage of short cable runs, since the bedroom is next to the closet with the access door to the attic, and that helps on all fronts.

If it works, I don't monkey with it.

I had the same antenna (20-176) in my attic for months mounted on an old ski-pole in an old telescope tripod. It worked great up there. Of course the reception is better outside where it is now but it was still a huge improvement for me when I put it in the attic.
