Many thanks go out to Ron at www.scannerstandman.com for the dual scanner stand, which arrived today. Here's the lowdown;

Left to right you see a Radio Shack PRO 90 with discriminator tap, used for Unitrunker. On the dual stand is my new GRE PSR 500, and my "weathered" but still reliable Uniden BC246T. A roof mounted Diamond DJ130N Discone mounted on a 10' mast with a 10' Rohn tripod is used for reception. The antenna is fed with Times Microwave LMR 400 which runs into the basement behind the computer desk. The coax is connected to a Stridsburg 4 port active multicoupler, and the scanners use jumpers of RG6 from the multicoupler.

For those interested in a quality mount for scanners, check out Ron's website. His stands are made BY HAND, and by him. The workmanship is second to none!

Your Mod Looks Good.

I'm likin' the PRO-90 tap. I used to have a PRO-90 as my first trunking scanner and that brings back a few memories.

What's that switch on top of he scanner for?

Nice setup. Clean multiple unit station without a rats' nest.

Looks like your duckies are breeding there on the second shelf.

By the way, is that my old buddy Ron on the wall above the radios?

The ducks are UB Funkeys, some internet game my kids play with. The picture on the wall is an old newspaper clipping of Ronald Reagan, in his own words. Some great quotes on there!

I love the look of the 3 rigs in a row... I love the idea of a mulicoupler, does it really work? and if it does all work correctly, are there any downfalls to this set-up. I own multiple scanners, and was always told not to hook them up in this fashion.

multicoupler at your shack

The Stridsberg is a great way to use multiple scanners with just 1 antenna.

Cool, thanks for the info... looks like Ive got some shopping to do. your idea really helps me in the future, I will start to multicouple now that Ive seen that particular device. It will solve some of my problems, I always thought the scanner receiver multicoupler needed to be of a switched type, like an A - B switch. Looks as if it wont be a problem now. Happy monitoring!
