QTH: McGrath Alaska

AM log distance record: 8000 miles/13,000km
Station: ABC Local Radio 7ZR 936 Hobart, Tasmania, Australia (that island state of Aus. off the far south coast)
10KW 2 tower directional with a null towards Melbourne to protect a 936 there running the ABC NewsRadio format

From Wednesday, March 21 at 1600UTC
You can hear the time tone beeps and the unmistakable ABC Top of hour news intro theme followed by "ABC News, this is David Rollins"

You might say to yourself, "Paul, how do you know that was ABC Local Radio Hobart and not the NewsRadio signal from Melbourne? they both run ABC NEws at the top of hour!"

Here's audio from just 6 minutes later at 1606UTC, listen at 22 seconds where she says "low of 15, top of 21.. ABC Radio HOBART"

They interviewed me live on the radio a few days later and About a week after that, I ended up on Australian national television's morning show

Great catch.. About 40 years of BCB DXing here and I've never heard anything outside of the continental US & Canada.

I'm not an active DXer, I don't have the time. But a long time ago I was tipped off by an online source (it was probably on Compuserve at the time, it was that long ago) that Norway was making it across the pond one night. I tuned in and sure enough, there they were, loud and clear in central Pennsylvania, on a modest antenna. (Indoor random wire, I think.)

I've heard Norways one lone AM here... 1485 in Svalbard here several ties and its only 1kw

Here in Australia the ABC operates many AM stations, so at night at the top of the hour a ton stations are playing the same news feed.

Just making a comment, Never said you were wrong. The news intro is an easy way of identifying stations from Australia

As an aside, Henrytm, is that radio in your avatar a Realistic Patrolman SW-60? Looks like it.
