There's not much room in Hyundai Elentras, but I managed with my Yaesu FT-8000 and BC-780. It's not much but works for my relatively quiet area in Northern New York.

i just bought a 2005 elantra , and wow , where do i put my 785-D ? went to lentinis electronics in newington ct. and yep , thats exactly where he told me he would mount it . he said with velcro.....and sure enough , i velcroed the radio right where you have yours , and an external speaker on the driver side....it really worked well ! not a bad pic. ill try and post mine soon....just bought the car last week , and have a radiall cranston special. antenna on the trunk...
