hey ya'll,

just wanted to let you know that i had picked up the last 201 from bobs electronics in Shallotte a week ago and i know have it programed and installed in my vehicle. I'll post pics at a later date. it's a nice sturdy radio but i will defienately be replacing it with a 2055 and be puting the 2051 as a base radio. I works well but even after all the time i spent putting in system id's that i wanted to listen to, it picks up every sincle id It seems there is no way to lock this out. I like listening to fire and ems alot more that i do listening to pd's. i'll scrounge around the scan cat software and see if there is any way to close these banks so i dont have to what i dont want to.

If you try to listen to a transmission when the scanner IS NOT set to the correct receive mode, ie: AM, FM, MO, ED, the transmission may sound weak or DISTORTED.

To top it all off, he's picking up not only digital, but encrypted talkgroups also as the S.O. there uses encryption on just about everything.
