My new Pro-96 and Orange County

Ok, I was very excited to finally save the money ($500) for a new pro-96. I keep seeing conflicting information on this site about listening to the local police dept. I am in the city of Orange and work in Anaheim. I would like to listen to both police depts. Is this possible with the pro-96 or not? Please use non techie words with me, I am not a tech head at all! Thanks for any info on this guys!

All law enforcement in Orange County is encrypted. You can get LAPD since they are digital. I am not sure if you will be able to get them down that far but plug them in and see.

as previously posted, the best you can do is RED: law enforcement emergency/pursuits.

If it's of any consolation, you can still monitor the fire department radio traffic on the system in Orange County.
