Ok, I figured that even I have one scanner, you guys can help in giving me scanner suggestions and even setup suggestions.

ok, My scanner:
Uniden BC92XLT, got it at my local Farm and Fleet store, it was a experiment and it turned me to loving scanning! The Attenna is a Radio Shack Telescoping attenna, which is nice, it is better than the stock, but it depends...

(sorry, don't know what happened...)

Weather Radio:
Since I'm a spotter, of course I have to have a radio. My scanner does not have SAME on it, but I either hear it via Ham Radio or from this radio.

your scanner/setup suggestions are welcome!

Nice antenna on the scanner! looks huge on that scanner!
Depending on the way you are, these might be the last pics that are simple and clean, if you know what I mean, in the future you get more scanners..lol

put up a map of your county, makes you look official

if you want suggestions, look at getting a antenna for external ..if 150 is what your listening to primary get a tuned antenna outdoors or put a wire to adapt the scanner take the stress off the radio BNC to keep it happy for years to come.

I would start off by getting a tripod for the camera.

Nice start.

You will get better reception if you shorten that antenna.

Your scanner shows a frequency of 158.239 and for that you frequency range (138 - 174 MHz) only the top 4 sections should be extended.

If you don't have the instructions -
25 - 136 MHz - Extend all Nine Sections
138 - 174 MHz - Extend only the top four sections
220 - 1296 MHz - Xxtend only 1 to 3 lower sections

I find that the coil is activated when the bottom of the top sections is pulled out. I use mine as a dual band by using the top four and one or two of the bottom pulled out. The bottom sections pulled out or not makes no difference on VHF that i can tell. But pulling all 5 sections of the top cuts off the VHF-HI performance and sets it for VHF-lo. I've used that antenna since the 90's untill a few years back after getting flexible whip antennas.
