It's not much but it's definitely something. Sorry for the blurry photo I apologize. I find buying public safety radios cheaper than buying endless scanners from uniden and whistler. If I could have 10 SDS100's I would.

Radios from left to right. (All uhf models)
Motorola XPR 7550
Motorola XPR 6550
Uniden SDS100
Motorola XTS 5000 (2x)
Tytera MD380
Boofwang err.. I mean Beofeng UV-5R.

Hope yinz like it.

You have an adapter on your 7550? Is it one of the callbox models with an actual SMA?

No it isn't. It came without an antenna so I used what I had in my box of random radio parts to get it working. Had an sma to bnc and I have like 10 old uniden scanner antennas. Worked for me fine.

Ok but you realize that the XPR is not an SMA and there is no center pin for your adapter to carry over to your BNC antenna? Your antenna is now effectively only as tall as the outside ground portion of the adapter+BNC because the radiator of the antenna is connected to nothing.

Yeah I realized. Well I did order an OEM Motorola uhf antenna slated for arrival by Friday. So that was just a redneck engineering temporary fix.

Ok good just wanted to make sure you didn't damage your radio. Reception should improve too. :)
