Back in July around July 7-8-9 I sent in my SDS-200 in for repair. I sent a cashier's check for 100.00 to cover the cost.

the check cleared on 7/21/23, and I have the check.

I have called and have been told the repair is done but the radio is sitting on a shelf for some reason.

I was also told that is the tec who sends the radio back.

SO my question is when is this going to happen? It's been almost 3 months.

I would demand to speak to a supervisor. And if you already have then demand to speak to the supervisors supervisor.

And what if they say, "No..."? Then do you say, "Please let me talk to your supervisor"?

I've always had decent to good results taking keyboard in hand and actually writing a letter, on paper (and mailing it) to the "top guy/gal" in a company. Then it has to drift down through the ranks, hitting everyone's "supervisor," as well as giving the president an idea of what's going on below him.

It may take a little effort, and a little time, but I don't think I've ever failed to get the response I wanted from doing it, plus an occasional "free-o" of their product for bringing the situation to their attention.

Email? Forgetaboutit. That's why there's a "Delete" button on the keyboard.

Just spitballing here but consider this… possibly a billing irregularity where Uniden’s bulling process has not been followed. You sent them a check and it has cleared the bank as you have mentioned. But since it was not in the exact amount charged for the repair, Uniden repair is now needing to cut you a check for any extra you may have sent.

OR,

You owe more due to return shipping costs?

And why, if you were actually talking to the person responsible for returning your repaired scanner, which is still sitting on their shelf, wasn’t the REASON for doing so conveyed to you?

On the bright side;
At least they can actually put their hands on your unit, they know where it resides and didn’t loose it!

I talked to the customer service, and they told me all was ok and did not mention I needed to pay more for shipping. I guess I need to talk to tech support and see what they have to say I well do that Tuesday.

Please don’t take this the wrong way but I suspect there may be communications barrier between you and Uniden Service. I suggest you ask a friend to place the call to Uniden Service and have them do any talking. Sometimes it’s all that is necessary. I know myself there are occasions where I didn’t get my point across to the guy on the other end… for whatever reason. And when I asked another to call on my behalf, the misunderstanding became apparent and the matter resolved.
