You definitely get what you paid for in this circumstance. I also used CATV amps for years before I took the plunge on Stridsberg. Once I did, I had MUCH better signal and was hearing systems 75 miles away no problem. You can go cheap and get adequate, then you can go Stridsberg and get real performance. The choice is always up to the individual hobbyist. Take it from me and do a performance comparison. Definitely worth the extra jack for the Stridsberg.

I went with a catv amp after seeing a post somewhere a few years ago where a comparison had been done by the guy with zero difference between the two. To each their own.

With the PCT-MA2-8P Amplifier - PCT International, Inc. I can listen to FD & PD in NYC 65 miles away so im very happy with it.

The most important thing - always - is your satisfaction. If you are happy with that setup, whatever works for you. Whatever works for me might not work for you, and all that jazz. If you are happy with the reception, then it's all good! ;)

That's Impressive, I like things neat and organized. Not meaning this to be offensive in anyway but why so many scanners? I can imagine having a base for digital and one for analog an HF rig and a HT for each as well and maybe a couple more dedicated to specific systems or freq. ranges. but all I can say is WOW. What do you put each one to use for? I can't even imagine hearing the traffic from all of them. I'd need about a dozen or so more ears wired in to my brain and a multi-core hyper-threading brain at that. Like an Intel I9-9980XE transplanted into my cerebral cortex.
