My son passed his Technician exam!

My 14 year old son was bitten by the radio bug last year.

He took his exam for Technician last week and passed! No callsign yet - from what i've read its been taking 1.5 to 2 weeks before calls are showing up in the FCC database via the ARRL VEC.

He's inspired me to get back into ham radio after a long absence. So much so that i'm going to take the test for General on February 13th!

He actually got interested in his own, watching me listen to scanners, use commercial two way radios, etc. He decided to get his Tech ticket completely on his own.

I'm really proud of him!

Congrats! I'm 14 too. Tell him to get going on the general as well

I have my general (working on the extra) and am an avid DXer and contester. The world of DX was what really got me inspiered to get my ticket!
