Ok, it’s my turn. I’ve got a few pics for all to mull over….
#1 My Desk/Base Setup – Very simple as well; another PRO-2055 to a RS Sputnik antenna in my attic. It doesn’t receive as well as the other PRO-2055 to a sputnik antenna that I have on the other side of the room in the other attic space but it’s good enough. Eventually I’d like to add a UHF rig and VHF rig for better monitoring.
#2 My Portable collection – Includes a Kenwood TK-2180, Kenwood TK-2170, Motorola CP150, Kenwood TK-3170 and last but not least RS PRO-97. Yakima County is all VHF so no fancy trunking systems to listen to. I use both the 2180 and 2170 for the FD. I like the 2180 for it’s 512 channel capacity and the 2170 for it’s size and weight. I use the CP150 at a Family Fun Center where I work to talk to the other employees form one end of the park to the other. I use the 3170 for monitoring anything and everything in the UHF range. And lastly, the PRO-97 for finding new stuff on the go.
#3 My Mobile Setup – Not the prettiest setup, but it works for me. On top is a PRO-2055, below is a Uniden 520XLT CB and below that is a switch box for various lights and other things. I would eventually like to go with a console instead of a rack, but it was cheaper and I can’t find a console that puts the radio up like that, so I’m thinking I’m going to have to make one, but I don’t own a welder so….
