Mystery Dipole (Balun?)

OK - Got this in a pile of material from an ex-ham, and he could not ID it exactly either. I tried to do an anaylsis to pin it down, but no real good info..

where is my Norton/Thevenin equivalent book

DC Resistance across SO239 is 0.3 - 0.4 ohms..

Attached image shows other DC measurements and can anyone equate these DC resistances and image to anything - B&W? - HyGain? or ???

NO markings anywhere except my Resistance ones.. :roll:

wish it was - I'd stick it on the bottom of my finicky G5RV Ladder line

The resistance readings sound like its a voltage balun (Ruthroff), probably a 4:1.
Connect a 200ohm resistor across the crusty eye bolts and the match should be very good if it is a 4:1.

But coming up with a 200 ohm Resistor at 10-15 W (To make the Bird read) may be a problem. Maybe I can find enough 1-2 watters to parallel to 50-ish..

If it is a 4:1, I was going to experiment with it on the end of the G5RV Ladder-line and changing the coax running into the shack to RG6 75 ohm, making the Impedance match easier at the 949E tuner. - Or maybe the valiant TS480 internal one might breathe easier ;-)

Did you work at PRC, by any chance? - I'm a KSC Pad-Rat, retired.. ;-)
