I am hearing N. Sac CHP on 72.460 for mobiles and 75.960 for dispatch.

Strange thing is 72.460 appears to be a repeater output as all of the mobile units have the exact same signal strength (and it would be doubtful I would hear too many of them being 30-45 mile away anyways).

75.960 is fairly weak, but it clearly the over side of the conversation. Dispatch is not present on 72.460, only 75.960. I believe the conventional Gold channels on 42.xxx are non-repeated.

Anyone have any insight to this?

TIA,

Ryan

I too have heard this. It's even listed on another frequency site.

I get a LOT of interference from what sounds like TV stations though, and I often can't pick it up. I was wondering where it came from, and the repeaters sound as good as any idea.

BTW- the PL is not 179.9 for this.

CHP has been using 72MHz links for years to sites that don't have state microwave. It's a site-to-site link only, no mobiles or bases on that freq.

Awesome! Thanks, Kirk!

I checked with my bestest friends at the FCC and they support that statement. Also, they (the fiexed base links) listen on the Blue, but that should go without saying.

Thanks again for your help.

BTW-If anyone wants that list of freqs that is posted in other threads, I made an Excel file of the pdf. Here's the link for it.

Also, I'm sure it's been talked about before, but I know we can't hear the mobiles. Can the other units hear that? I don't remember what the answer was. And, who do we need to ***** to to get them to repeat Sac like they do in the Bay Area. lol (like that'll help)

I have noticed that there is a "CHP BLUE" talkgroup on Sacramento Counties trunk system yet I havent heard any traffic on it. Does anyone know about this as well?

CHP has talkgroups set aside on the County system, but do not use them. Only some officers have trunking radios (XTS 3000s from what I've seen), but they do not use the CHP talkgroups. They only use the Sheriff channels.

City actually has a carbon copy of their talkgroups on the County system as well, in case of failure. You will not hear any traffic on that either, as long as the City system works.

*EDIT* - after thinking about what you said, I think you mean the CHP Link freq. Radio shop said it was a link between the two, and you should be able to hear blue over the TRS. As far as I know, it is not active. It might be turned on in either emergency situations or VIP situations, dunno.
