I'm wondering why you bumped up a thread over a year old but what he heck, something got my attention.

"New Jersey's cell phone law has a very clearly worded exemption for Ham radio operators."

Interesting point, being personally involved at the time here's a bit of background. While the bill was in progress it caught the watchers' eyes and created a furor in the ham community, the wording included "all wireless devices" so we stormed the castle and the exemption was added. The irony is that was the ONLY change as it passed into law so the smarty who said CBers should be cited with violations has a point, so as it stands I'd LOVE to see cops handing wolf tickets to firemen, EMTs and each other. (;->)

Seriously, (?) cops don't pull over while using their cell phones so what's wrong with this picture?

I have always respected the police and find they are necessary to have. I commend them for what they do... But sometimes I wanna know what brain fart some officers have when issues like this come up. Just makes me wonder sometimes.
