Today while driving through Nashua NH on RT3, I heard a brief transmission on 167.4625, with a NAC of 070. Around here I know this freqency as being FBI, but I have never heard of this NAC before. The transmission was in the clear.

Does anyone have any idea about this.

Could be FBI Special Operations Group (S.O.G.),Special Surveillance Group (S.S.G). Or US Marshal's. Been hard to figure out since this is almost always ENC.

As Kenny mentioned, there have been some other P-25 NACs showing up on some FBI VHF networks in some parts of the country. What they mean is still some what of a mystery, as they do tend to stay encrypted. It has been suggested that these could be specialized groups within the FBI, such as SOG, etc., or perhaps the US Marshals Service, which is sharing the FBI wide area network. Just not enough information has been found yet.

I have not spotted a NAC of N070 on the FBI nets before.

And in more than a few areas, reports are that in place of the usual N167 NAC, the FBI repeaters have started showing the "default" NAC of N293. What's up with that?
