NAC decoding anytime soon???

I have searched the forums and the one difference between the PSR-500 and the 396 that all agree on is that the 396 does not decode NAC. Can this be added by updating the firmware? What is the likelihood of Uniden adding this ability? Thanks for your replies!

All agree? No, some, yes, but even without NAC the Unidens have much more going for them. As for NAC, one thing at a time, lets get some of the update issues dealt with then worry about add on's.

What I meant was that the performance of both scanners is subject to dispute, but noone claims that the 396 decodes NAC. Also, I don't currently own a 396 so I can't comment on the recent updates. I'm asking about the 396 as a potential buyer. Thanks!

Ah, Ok Well I would hazard to guess that because so many owners want NAC decode that they (Uniden) will probably see if it's possible, and if it is they would pass it on to the users one way or another free or paid depending on whats involved.
