• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows if Nampa Fire is encrypted. I know the frequency listed doesn't show it encrypted but it's the only fire department that I'm not able to pick up and I'm wondering why.

No, they nor no other CC fire dept is encrypted at the present, like most SW Idaho P25 users they have the capability of going at any time dependent on local or national issues. Yep..it’s scary

Your reception is determined by your location, antenna and of course radio. I heard them as of today here in Ada county while mobile with my HP-2

Maybe I don’t have the category active. I notice Ada County comes across EMS dispatch for fire. Does it show up as Fire on your HP-2? I did update my database two days ago on my SDS200.
