Hello all,

Before I go and start messing with my radio and scanner, I thought I'd ask here:

Have there been any changes to the Napa SO/PD frequencies in the last few months? It used to be that when I would go over there, they would be blowing up the radio. The last several trips over, the law channels are ghost towns...literally no traffic heard at all. It feels like they migrated to a new system or something, but I'm sure someone would have noticed that.

The first time or two I just assumed it was a slow traffic day (I'm usually only there for an hour or two at most -- kid swap with the ex), but it's been that way every time I go over for the last couple months. It is just a significant difference to the usual traffic pattern .

Anybody have any idea? Thanks!

The are back on 155.430 simulcasting different sites then was done on 151.070 (which I designed). The signals are poor on 155.430 since they are trying to simulcast with sites that simply won't work together. I worked the calcs many years ago. The new Atlas Pk site is part of the problem, coverage is too good and overlap too great.

Ok, I will narrow my search to the Secondary (155.4300) when I go back over and see if I can hear ANYTHING.

I was there again on Wednesday 1-3, and again heard absolutely nothing on the Law channels. I thought I had 155.430 in the scan list, but I'll confirm that. I actually saw a Napa PD unit running Code on Jameson Canyon JEO I-80 back towards Napa as I was leaving, but had heard no radio traffic, so SOMETHING is wrong with my setup...

Are they still using the same CTCSS as always, or has that changed? And do you know if the channel change for dispatch is permanent, or another temporary change while they sort things out?

Thanks for any input you have. I am over there enough that I like to listen to them while I'm there.

Disregard my last...I think I found my problem. I had a 4 mhz frequency error on my program for 155.430, which explains why I wasn't hearing them. I will fix that and I'll bet my problem is solved.

Thank you for your help!!!

Just there for the past week, and everything was normal. Same programming for a 6 years in my radios.

Yeah, they have over the last couple years occasionally moved Dispatch off RED to another channel and back for various reasons. It shouldn't have been a problem, but I made a rookie error and the channel they switched to was programmed wrong. It's been fixed; I'm sure that was the issue.
