I am in the market for a new base scanner and was wondering if anyone had a list or suggestion of which scanners can monitor Narrowband FM in the 155-175 mhz range? I appreciate any input...Thanks!

If it's a new scanner, they all do.

Any scanner will receive narrow and wide FM transmissions. Narrow band transmissions will sound quieter on a wide band receiver. An issue, yes, makes you have to crank up the volume, but it'll work.

I was not aware that they did...I know that the one I am currently using only carries the decimal out to 3 places...and I am looking for a fourth digit that ends in 5.

Receiving narrow band and receiving narrow band correctly are 2 different things. Neither GRE or Uniden solve the whole narrow band issue completely. This has been explained very well by Mke_G_D. See this post from him: http://forums.radioreference.com/gre-scanners/224036-any-gre-scanners-works.html#post1640948

excellent description! Thank you for your help! after reading that I am still unsure which way to lean...Do you have any recommendation on which unit you prefer?
