Racing will start this Weekend at LA Memorial Coliseum, This venue shall be interesting. OTA, Rentals will be available.

Nascar quit using the FanVision video scanner I've been using for 7 years. This was a nice system. Will miss it. The alternative is the RE3000 from Racing Electronics. It also programs automatically over the air at the tracks for free. Or could just program one of my scanners to do the job. I use the Racing Electronics Gemini 5 headphone intercom system while at racing or any loud sports.

I own a few RE Legends. They both still work as a ota scanner or manual program scanner.

Haven't decided if I'll get the RE3000 but it makes life a lot easier to not have to manually program the Nascar frequencies. Will probably wait and see if a sale happens and if I actually attend another race. it was canceled here in Homestead-Miami in 2020 and I was in hospital last year so been a couple years already. Yes, the garage door situation still rubs me the wrong way. The only other sport I watch is my college football team.

I highly suggest a re3000. Many occasions where RE didn't have a trailer presecence for retail...... They still had OTA available. Indy,Imsa,SRX, and some Nascar events. I should record the noise the OTA makes I'm curious what the data mode it is

My off race season hobby hockey lol. Did you know that fan vision actually ran uhf tv channel.space? I didn't have a credit card when I first used one.. I won a free weekend pass. My friends brother put the deposit on his credit card telling me "don't take it apart"

Jeepsandradios what's your opinion on the la coliseum? I'm waiting on a news headline someone breaking into the nascar haulers.Rentals for RE Will only be reserved online only. No walk up rentals.

So far practice and qualifying looked good on my end. Had some feed issues with audio on scanner for practice but seems they resolved the issues prior to qualifying. With the amount of RF in that area I was not surprised but think the RX antenna for the drivers was not as close as needed. Much better for qualifying.

RE was online only last year also. I think it will use that for some time moving forward to be honest. Its simple and they can plan better vs bringing extra stuff that never gets rented out.

I agree, the sport has been ruined. The acronym NASCAR, no longer represents the sport. They haven't used Stock Cars built out as racing cars in about 50 years, and near stock in about 40 years. There is no competition of the cars themselves, except who has a cloned car in best condition. They are all the same except in color, markings and some slight body shape difference. Driver skill, pit crew skill and mostly luck are the deciding factors. I lost interest years ago. The last time I was interested was back in the 80's. It's boring. They're making a left turn, they're making a left turn, they're making another left turn! I wonder what's going to happen next?

I am surprised RE never licensed out the technology to local tracks and started selling their scanners across the country. How sweet would that be to roll up to any short track in the country and have your scanner automatically update to the local guys channels.

Does RE offer the software to update the scanner from a PC?

No. Not available to public. Never been leaked to public. I have also never saw any techies or geeks find out how the programing cable and how the ota functions and works. I've asked all over. Was told by a previous president of RE the program is there intellectual property. From what I heard I do not believe even official RE resellers/dealers have access to scanner firmwares and software.

Just saw your location. A track in wisconsin for a while had speech inversion.. Why.? they finally changed. I think it was old left over radios from previous owner.
