Hello, folks, I'm going to be in the Nashville area Friday evening through Monday of this coming weekend. Just a couple of questions about the area.

1)I've got the Nashville Airport freqs fine (We're staying at an Airport hotel) from the DB. Is there much MilAir activity in the area? I'm not sure if there's a guard base there or not.

2)Can anyone recommend a good 2 meter repeater in the area that's pretty active? I've got all the repeater freqs in the database and repeater directory, but if Nashville is like most towns, only a couple of them are active. Any recommendations certainly appreciated!

3)Is there much MURS or GMRS activity in the area?

We're coming down for GeoWoodstock in Bell Buckle on Saturday, and Sunday and Monday we're going to Geocache around the Nashville area. If anyone is interested in hooking up for a cache or two while we're in the area, let me know!

Thanks,
Rick N9GSU (Indianapolis)

The Yahoo! Nashville Scan group tbHarper mentioned hits most of the mil-air. We have an ANG group at KBNA C-130's but we get other traffic too.

The RR Davidson County database is quite accurate. THP freqs are hard to hear due to low band and limited repeater use. If you want to listen to the district NPD then Hermitage is your sector.

146.670 (Pl 114.8), 145.470 (Pl 107.2) and 145.210(Pl 173.8) are most active in Nashville and have good coverage. The 145,21 should take you to Bell Buckle too.

Not much GMRS activity other than simplex. FRS varies depending on how many tourists are in town but again limited as you know by the low power.

Hould you get bored plug in Wilson County freqs as you will be close enough to hear most of the activity.
Stay safe and holler if you hear us. I am usually on 145.21, 145.47 or 146.985 (114.8) in morning and evening rush hours.

Thanks, fellas, for the responses. I'm looking forward to a few days in the area. W4EMS, maybe we'll get a chance to meet up on the air! :)

Going to Nashville tomorrow (5/30/09). Taking both my Pro-96 and Pro-106 for comparisons. I will actually be in Donelson at teh TN School f/t Blind for alumni.

Wow! Just used the "Web Import" in the Win500 for the first time for the Nashville systems. It's great!
