Just monitored over ZME ATC that all BNA TRACON is shut down. All arriving a/c going into holds. This monitored on 133.85/285.5 @1630hrs local. Giving vectors to A/C for diversions. Any ideas?

Nashville/BNA All Arrivals and Airspace Shut Down

According to the FAA website for airports status it is open with delays due to weather and AAL1372 just departed.
Airspace has been re-opened. TRACON opened. Arriving being requested by ZME ATC to expedite descents and increase speeds. A/C s asking ATC for any reason but they said they will try to find answer. I believe this goes beyond the regular delays or gate holds. Guess well eventually find out.
