Nashville Question

Hi...I am traveling to Nashville for the APCO conference and I would like to program my G5 with some Nashville Fire/EMS talkgroups. I checked the database and I saw that there is a zone in the clear and what appears to be a zone with identical talkgroup names that are encrypted. Does Nashville Fire/EMS operate in the clear? Can someone give some background?

Also, I heard that there is an Indy car race this weekend. Any special interop channels worth monitoring?

Not sure why the older unencrypted remain but Fire/EMS/Police are fully encrypted.
The ops channels for the parks/shows were accurate last check.
Indy teams were not encrypted last time but PS was.
Lot of things to listen to downtown if that is where you are staying. Safe travels.

Nothing is in the Clear...PS wise. You can hear the Helo's bringing in PT's on VHF 155.340 CSQ Lots of DMR on downtown on broadway for the bars... MCC is a Cap + system where APCO is being held.

Brought my SDS100 and listened to the hotels along Broadway deal with drunks from the UFC crowd (also going on concurrently with APCO)- other than that, nothing to listen to locally. Most of my radio monitoring was back home via my APX NEXT where I got to hear another shooting or three right outside my 911 center, a MARTA train decapitation, and my upset ops crew who have to deal with the threat of the "trial". Nashville is a very nice town, they did a great job and wish I could have stayed longer. I ate like a king. Can't find food that good anywhere here in ATL. Metro PD aren't like APD, they actually take people to jail- saw ONE crazy dude popping off at the mouth outside the Grand Lodge while I was walking to Music City Center, and they quickly and swiftly hauled him off. I saw FD and PD everywhere. The construction on Broadway sucked- I got a nice view of it from my 21st floor room at the Grand Hyatt. It's a great city and clearly there is a vision unlike where I had to return to yesterday.

I've been here 2 years since moving from Chicago. I like it. Many of my customers are downtown and the MCC is one also. They run a Cap + system. Metro PD is all about FAFO... The BBQ joints are good but $$ because of the tourist crowd. Lower Broadway is always nuts with drunks in the bars and Honky tonks...

FAFO...I love that acronym. I wish APCO was there next year, but it's gonna be in the hot toilet of Orlando.
