Nassau County EDACS going to?

Wondering what they will do with the EDACS EOL. Are they going to the Nassau Digital (encrypted) system on 500 MHZ or someplace else?

Its really up in the air at this point but my best guess would be either they will basically keep the 800mhz frequencies and just "convert" it to a P25 system or switch to the 700mhz system for the users of the EDACS system (DPW, medical center,etc) and just keep the 500mhz system for police use
Or the other way around

I dont think there has been even any testing for the 700mhz system yet so it dosent seem like it will be on the air anytime soon
The EDACS system seem to still be holding up well the thing is there isnt many sites but the current sites are high atop water towers and whatnot...

as GTR8000 point out in your other post, they are not just going to fall off the air, they will more and likely keep it on the air until a replacement system is built out.
