I see that Freeport, Garden City, Glen Cove, Hempstead & Long Beach have their own frequencies, does this mean that they never dispatch on 46.1 MHz along with the other departments or does the county initially dispatch them & then they redispatch on their own frequencies?

The only one of those departments that alerts on 46.1 is Long Beach. Freeport is alerted by the County (Firecom) on 155.10 (they also have a UHF channel I'm not sure if they are alerting on that one as well). Out of the 71 departments in the county more and more have gone to UHF and are no longer alerting on 46.1. Some departments alert on both 46.1 and their UHF channel.

Thanks, that clears up a lot of things, I guess 46.1 MHz is very quiet these days.

HALEVE--The Links you Posted Above Havent Been Updated Since 2007---There Have Been Alot of Changes in the Rigs and Radio Frequencies that are not Listed on that Site (were talking 5 years worth) (its now 2012)

Here on Radio Reference There Frequency Data Base is Up to Date--Granted Alot of Depts on Long Island do there Own Thing with Frequencies but They Still Have and Use 46.100 / 200 / etc. Just in Case Something does Go Down with there uhf Channels
