Interesting to note that the FCC admits that due to technical issues in the display and/or audio during the test, "this is a test" may not be seen or heard by everyone.... 911 centers look out!

It seems like some PSA's would be appropriate leading up to this, since in reality the public is not the target of the test, the system itself is..

Damn. I've thought for years that NWR would broadcast EAS traffic. Good to know that I've been relying on the NOAA radio system that isn't yet in operation as backup for man-made disaster info. Hearing the message break in over NWR would have been neat. The 2m rig in my PoV is set up to check WX for priority traffic.

They plan on it, just aren't ready yet, per the letter . Interesting to see their plans for EAS-NWR do eventually include the actual EAS audio.

Now all we need around here is the local NOAA transmitter power to be bumped up or replace the one they took out of Lansing a few years ago, I seem to be in a dead zone here
