I'm kind of new to listening to MILAir. USAF ANG-F16's 143.600000 seem odd. Would this be used for talking to troops on the ground? Most MILAir seems to be 200/300. This freq isn't on the above site either.

Odd or not, milair is active in that portion of the VHF band. I hear a gang of A-10s on 143.150 AM frequently in northern Florida.

Correct, there is plenty of VHF AM, including some frequencies that are shared between FM users and AM users, 143.7000 is one of them.

The bases in San Antonio have frequencies in the military VHF band. Planes landing at Randolph AFB fly right over my house. It is nice to hear them.

The criteria for nationwide mair frequencies are similar to other nationwide groups. That is, they must be common. My frequency example may or may not be common across the country. A-10s flying over San Antonio, TX may or may not use 143.150 AM. However, there are other, common, and frequently used frequencies such as 311.0, 255.4, and 243.0 AM. Plus, it is the collective knowledge of those contributing to the wiki that helps all of us know what frequencies are "nationwide" or "common."

the 142/143 Mhz AM freqs are mainly used as squadron air to air freqencies around here in eastern NC.....pilot to pilot comms......navy carrier pilots use one here for air-air chat thats the same freq as a local FM military base freq......I have the same freq entered twice in all scanners...once as FM , once as AM.....

I have a few frequencies listed in the 138 to 150.8 Mhz band. Is there a site that lists what they are used for? I have them listed as ACM or air to air.

Thanks
Don

260.900 and 228.900 are pretty much used across the country for Huntress CAP and intercepts
