Beginning this morning at 0800, San Diego Fire Rescue Communications Center began dispatching for the National City Fire Department. Using the SD County RCS, National City units have moved from primary fire dispatch and fireground communications on Zone 3 to Zone 6, joining Chula Vista Fire and using the same talkgroup pairings.

NCFD has adopted most of San Diego FIre Rescue's alarm assignments with a few notable exceptions.
An Odor of Natural Gas response will generate a first alarm (residential) assignment, regardless of the premise type. Oven Fires (an engine/truck response in San Diego) is a structure fire with premise type enhancement in National City.

With the addition of National City, San Diego Fire Rescue Communications Center only lacks one remaining Metro Zone partner, Coronado Fire from in-house dispatch services. This excludes Federal Fire (Navy Regional Dispatch) and Miramar Fire (self-dispatched).

Thank you for the information. Looks like another scanner re-tagging is in order for me.
