What freq do the rangers use in the Nat Forests? I know the sheriffs and state police patrol those areas but I have seen Forest service trucks also. I am mostly interested in the southern part.

I used to hear them on 169.175 MHz. but I don't know if that has changed.

Kevin's got it. 169.175 is still in use; I monitored traffic on it yesterday.

Didn't get anything on it over the last weekend, but had a good time listening to the state police. Maybe they use a different freq in the southern area?
I will keep it stored in the radio for future use

The one time I logged them a year or two ago they were using 169.175 R with a CTCSS of 100.0 Hz. Unknown input or input CTCSS. Also unknown which repeater it was; the machine was noisy getting into Albany, NY.
