Hi I'm photopro in Wadsworth Ohio. Does anybody have the 2012 National Ski Patrol scanner frequencies for Ohio? I've written to several ski resorts and even emailed the National Ski Patrol itself ,but no one will answer my query.

National Ski Patrol

I thought it was just:

155.1600

155.2200

Did you need the PL tones, also?

First, hopefully this will be moved to the Ohio forums as it's not a Federal topic.

2nd - YMMV each Ski area has it's own frequencies, altho the "NSP" has some licenses across the county, not every Ski area uses those VHF allocations.

Your best bet is to
a.) Use the RR DB and the FCC and search by each resort/facility.
Search under the Public Name, Nick Name, Corp Name, Owners Name, Facility Managers etc - even the license might be under an OLD Owners name/Corp

b.) Spend some time with your scanner in the Search mode
You never know where the facility will be found .
ie: Here in Mass one ski area and Radio Shop :( sadly programmed their radios with 460.2875, 461.2875, 462.2875, 463.2875, 464.2875, 465.2875, 466.2875, 467.2875, 468.2876 and 469.2875 [Yup - two of them Public Safety] - no licenses anywhere for them.

Search the 150-162, 450-512 ranges. If it's a busy resort, you will find them quickly.

Typically the Ski Patrol will be in the same band as the Resort Ops [In my experience] so they usually have access to those channels to.

Here is something I pulled from the FCC. If you search by call sign, it looks like they have more than I thought. The Ski Resort I worked at had 4 channels for ski patrol. F1 and F2 were 155.1600 and 155.2200, carrier squelch! Then F3 and F4 were 155.1600 and 155.2200 with the same PL tone on both frequencies. They were the "new channels". I was led to believe that this was the nationwide National Ski Patrol channel plan. But then I see the other VHF frequencies and it certainly bears further research. The place I worked at has a VHFchannel, which is coincidentally also a MURS frequency, that was the main channel. The ski patrol would listen there, too, but they used 155.1600 for talking about wjich hill to ski down, when hot chocolate was ready, when the soup was on, etc.

As well as School Bus Ops.

These all fall under the former PS - Special Emergency allocations
which is why the NSP also is licensed on them.

Special Emergency licenses includes SB, Vet's, Doctors, ME's etc

155.160 & 155.220 are ambulance frequencies in Northeast Ohio
