Since this involves Drug Enforcement, I'm sure these comms would be

Actually these have been around about 10 years. They were in the open at that time. Now only select freqs are still in the open. 418.750 is our local drug plane for upstate SC. During the summer and fall they sometimes are all day events in auto tracking. Often use same freq for car to car during surveillance. Also hear aircraft on US Customs freq but planes are long distance from local repeater.

Here in Northwest Arkansas those guys say stuff I never would have when I was a Cop. They talk all the time in the clear here.

The last time the local plane was up they talked about going to location where video was being recorded and checking wheather or not the link from the pole was down. SO, somebody has a pole in front of their house with a camera on it connected to microwave link. I went outside and looked. Now I feel better.
