Hello All,

I have the freq. from the database for the Maryland Natural Resources Police. I live in Indian Head MD and for some reason I don't hear them talking. Does anyone know where there "Dispatch Center" is or does each indivisual station dispatch for there units like "MSP" does. Anyone's bit of information would be wonderful.

Thanks my friends !

You should be able to receive them on one of the high band VHF frequencies listed in this database, since never have been in any area of Maryland that didn’t have at least one active. The communication center is located in Annapolis in the Tawes State office building. They use Tawes as their callsign and have access to repeater towers all over the State of Maryland. The local Region offices have radios and they can sometimes be heard during daytime business hours, but Tawes has communication watch 24/7. You should be located in the Southern Region. You have remember that this a very small Police force with only about 230 members to cover the whole State and in the winter not as busy. MNRP is much busier in summer with boating and fishing activity, but in the winter the traffic is mainly during the gun hunting season. You could leave a digital activated voice recorder on for 24 hours to save transmissions, so you make sure there is radio traffic and you won’t have to sit by the scanner all day

Try 155.370. I just plugged this in the other day down here in St. Mary's County, and am getting DNR police on it regularly. Usually I hear something to the effect of "Unit ### calling TAWES off of Benedict". Have also heard them say "Off of Leonardtown" and "Off of Point Lookout". I am assuming the references to Benedict, Point Lookout and Leonardtown are references to which Repeater Tower they are working through.

Trying to put a list of the PL tones I have caught thus far together but they don't jive with what I see in the database on here. So I plan on putting some time in with those here soon.

The PL tone I have caught the most is 103.5. But I have also caught 107.2 & 100.0 used, but are very infrequent.

Yesterday I had DNR comms on 151.31 from Southern MD. Could not figure out which Division but the unit # referenced was PARK ###

Also on 159.45 I had "PARK 422 calling TAWES off of Tone 402"

If the PL was 114.8 that's not NRP, that's Caroline county fire dispatch - although that's not to say that they wouldn't get a NRP patch....73 Mike

I have been getting DNR comms on this one as well from here in St. Mary's County

ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - WQFJ229 - MARYLAND, STATE OF DNR

Have had comms to/from TAWES on it from numerous mobiles working through the Benedict, Leonardtown and Point Lookout tower sites.

Have not worked a PL tone out for it as yet. Just put in another scanner today that should help with that.

So far this one is probably the busiest I have gotten so far from here.

The others are:
151.145
151.205
151.31
151.46
155.37
159.45
