Thoughts? Yeah, get rid of the acoustic coupling. Use a hard-wired interface.

What bands are you using? What mode are you using? MT63?

There are several NBEMS forums on Yahoo Groups. There are many NBEMS nets on HF and VHF/UHF. For example, the NY-NBEMS net meets on 7.036 Mhz Saturdays at 10AM ET with a waterfall spot of 1500 hz. The USeast-NBEMS net meets Wednesdays at 7PM ET on the same frequency and waterfall spot. There are other HF nets like PANBEMS, Maine, NH, CT, several in the MidWest and on the West Coast. This doesn't even count the local groups doing it on their repeaters or VHF/UHF simplex.

Thanks for the info. I'm planning checking into some of the nets on 20 meters in the future.
