I'm aware each district of NCFS has their own VHF repeated ops channels then 3 VHF tac channels per each district - example "D12-Tac 1"

Has anybody seen or have the districts 700mhz digital simplex channels, and know their use? Believe there is 4 of them per district.

Thanks!

They may be the four "DIRECT" channels that all counties and agencies are authorized to use throughout the state. Living near the NCSHP Training Center (and driving track), as well as the Raleigh Fire Academy, I hear them in use a lot. Each county is assigned a different NAC, but they aren't always using the proper one. The P25 conventional frequencies are 769.00625, 769.01875, 769.03125, and 769.04375.

- 7 minute video about NC Forest Service in Wake County - good look at TY6 engine and Dozer "11-95" on a big transport - they have a staff of 3 in Wake County (Ranger + Assistant Ranger + Heavy Equipment Operator)

They do have the 4 P25 conventional frequencies @N1GAW mentioned programmed into their radios with the same NAC for each district. They are listed as TAC 1-4 respectively. That being said, they rarely use them and do use their VHF stuff more commonly.

Here in D12, they run the VHF Operations (kind of like their dispatch or direction between the plow coming from a couple counties over and D12 units) then simplex Tac 1 & Tac 2
