Okay, maybe it was a typo.....either that or some crazy HAM is talking to Atlanta Center now...
My bad.

my WAG is it's def a typo.....

if he was in comms with Center, then it was 100% a TYPO ! Center was NOT listening on 224 Mhz....

if he was using it as interplane comms then its a minor possibility of being correct.....we have had USMC incursions into 2meter ham freqs down here in the past....it is possible....but Atlanta Center would NOT have been in comms there !

nice logs !

It was a definite typo on my end, I think I meant 234.6 or something like that. It was a specific handoff to a another controller and I guess I got my numbers mixed up in the frenzy to program the new channel in.

"Triple Romeo 8142" UNID

126.45

UNID aircraft with a British pilot yesterday was 4 miles out from Bogue Field and calling Bogue Tower, planning on coming in to Bogue...once he heard that the field was actively being used by AV8's he ID'd himself as a FIXED WING aircraft and told Tower would divert as to not get mixed in with the Harriers.....he then declared he'd RTB New River and ID'd as TRIPLE ROMEO 8142 ......( i'm assuming RRR 8142 but he said it as Triple Romeo 8142)....strong British accent....and New River is mainly skids and Ospreys...but there was no helo blade noise on his signal nor heard overhead here....so, is a mystery !

Ref Speedway Fly-by...

That was this flight of four...they were almost directly over my house when they formed-up for their pass over the speedway. Heard them on the air a little bit before this...

Washington center new bern uhf low freq ?

272.75

I've been away from serious listening for a long while, and upon my return i notice that the WASHINGTON CENTER NEW BERN UHF Low frequency 272.75 has gone silent here !!! It should be one of the most active.....have they moved to a new frequency ?????

I did hear a tanker on 266.4 KIWI track hand off a flight to WASH CENTER on either a 255.X or 259.X ---i was out of the room and didn't catch it unfortunately---ARGHHHHHH !!! But it was definately in the 250's....(this may have just been a discrete freq, don't know)

Still hearing same old WASH CENTER Rocky Mount and Wilm UHF freqs.....

Anybody got the replacement freq for 272.75 ?

Thanks....

Washington Center New Bern Low UHF

Sir,

For some reason the frequency changed about 6 months ago. Try 281.425, the VHF 135.5 paired did not change. Can you hear the ground side from your location?

THANK YOU...very VERY much !!!

it's weird when you realize that something has gone very quiet.but it doesn't sink in for awhile !

never fails...when you need alot of traffic with handoffs mentioning a certain freq, they get scarce ! I'm just out of range for Ground from here....at least with nominal antennas....

BANDSAW KILO now here active with a/c

don't you go thinking the 380-399 Mhz band is ALL FM ground systems just yet !

Multiple NCNG AH-64 Apache's in flight on 49.95 AM in the clear. Discussing fuel and weather alternate options between themselves (air to air). Mention of 344.600 METRO at Pope AFB. Here is a link to the wav file ProScan saved.
